Karibu! Join us for a day trek across the ancient Shira Plateau on Mount Kilimanjaro. Perfect for travelers wanting to experience Africa’s highest peak without a full summit climb, this private trip takes you far above the tree line to Cathedral Point at 12,700 feet (3,870 meters).
Your journey starts early with scenic pickup before driving to Londorossi Gate. Entering the high-altitude Shira Caldera—an ancient volcanic crater—you'll hike open alpine trails while your local guide shares insights on Kilimanjaro's geology, unique flora like giant lobelias, and Chagga culture.
The highlight is Cathedral Point, offering panoramic views of Kibo Peak's glaciers and the plains below, where we pause for a picnic lunch. After taking in the views, we descend pole pole (slowly and comfortably) back to the trailhead, returning you smoothly by evening.

Meeting and pickup information
- We’ll pick you up in the morning from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi or meet you upon arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport. At the airport, our driver will be waiting with a sign displaying your name. Karibu Tanzania!
