Covering 55,000 km2, Selous National Park is one of the world’s largest protected reserves, located in southern Tanzania. It is home to an array of wildlife, including elephants, hippos, antelopes, lions, and cheetahs.
The reserve is also inhabited by several different species of birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Known for its stunning landscapes, Selous National Park features wide-open savannas and flowing rivers.
Aside from its wildlife, Selous is also famous for its unique historical significance. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1982 and is home to several archaeological sites, including ancient rock paintings.
